PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The Minimally Invasive Chevron Akin (MICA) is a percutaneous technique used to correct hallux valgus deformity. combination of distal osteotomy the first metatarsal and proximal phalanx big toe stabilized with internal fixation was over last decade. retrospective study presents results measurements performed on preoperative postoperative X-rays offers comparison conventional osteotomies. MATERIAL AND METHODS population consists 76 patients who underwent 93 operations between 2015 2018 at Department Orthopaedics, 1st Faculty Medicine, Charles University in Prague. mean age 50.2 years (range 18-74 years). evaluates measures parameters attributes interest weight-bearing foot before after operation 6-week or 3-month follow-ups. intermetatarsal angle measured according mechanical anatomic axis bone. Our found out using MICA transversal plane 4 mm 18 (in 20 diameter head). method thus mild, moderate partially severe deformities main disadvantage necessity C-arm operating theatre. CONCLUSIONS deformity based two extraarticular osteotomies part stable screws sagittal, transversal, even frontal plane, useful mild deformities.
